Green, Red Blue Spanish Wave

£25.00

With sewn boards binding the cover is made up of several layers sewn at the same time as the inner signatures (groups of folded papers). This gives the cover a slight puffiness and extra strength. This style of binding also allows the spine to move away from the book so that it can lie flat.

This book has 96 sides of 120gsm paper, the quality of the paper make them perfect for sketching. I have hand sewn this book using waxed Irish linen thread.

I have covered the notebook with some of my own hand marbled paper and have used a green book cloth to cover the moveable spine and I have chosen light green endpapers to match the covers.

The edges have been smoothly trimmed using the traditional press and plough method. This involves running a 'plough' with a sharp blade over the rough cut edges of the book as it is clamped in a press, cutting only a few pages at a time.

I have finished the books by waxing the marbled covers with microcrystalline 'Renaissance Wax' (the same wax used by the British Library!)
